Networking & Methods

SAS Networking Event

Saturday, March 2, 2024 (over lunch)

The SAS2024 Networking Event provides attendees with the opportunity to have an informal 30-minute meeting with an established member of the SAS community. This year at SAS, the Networking Event includes round-table meetings of a mentor and several mentees, over lunch on Saturday, March 2.

Mentees will have a chance to get to know a SAS leader, who will informally share their experience, and meet with other researchers who may share the same research interests, at different levels of their careers. The event will allow us to exchange ideas and experiences about science, and various other topics such as work-life balance, career development, paper publishing or grant writing.

To participate in the Networking Event, please sign-up during conference registration as mentee. You can sign up as a mentee if your career level is: post-doc, graduate student, post-bachelors, or undergraduate student.

Space is limited and you must pre-register. Please note that we will do our best to assign you a mentor that aligns with keywords you provide, however, we cannot guarantee a match depending on the availability of mentors for each topic.

Registration for the Networking Event is only available until Wednesday, January 31, 2024, which is the deadline for the early bird registration. Participants will be informed with mentor match information by: February 26, 2024.

If you have any questions about the Networking Event, please contact the Networking Committee Chair, Shir Atzil (shir.atzil@mail.huji.ac.il).

SAS Methods Roundtable Event

Sunday, March 3, 2024 (over lunch)

The Methods Roundtable discussion is a 60-minute session over the lunch break where a SAS discussion leader and a maximum of 9 registered attendees gather to informally discuss a shared methodological topic of interest. The goal of this format is to provide attendees interested in a topic with an opportunity to connect with each other and with an expert on that topic, whether attendees wish to further develop their existing expertise or are a novice seeking out a new area of interest. Ultimately, our goal is to help reduce barriers for attendees to informally explore new ideas with an accessible expert at the cutting-edge of a topic. Space is limited and you must pre-register.

Registration for the Methods Roundtable Event is only available until Wednesday, January 31, 2024, which is the deadline for the early bird registration. Participants will be informed of their table/topic assignment by: February 26, 2024.
