Call for Abstracts

Abstracts are no longer being accepted. Deadline for submission was October 30, 2015.

The Society for Affective Science is pleased to announce its call for submission of poster and thematic flash talk abstracts to be considered for presentation at its 2016 conference. SAS 2016 will take place at the Hyatt Regency Chicago in Chicago, IL, March 17-19, 2016. This year's program includes invited addresses by Huda Akil, Elaine Fox, Jonathan Gratch, and Shinobu Kitayama, and an exciting array of presentations in varying formats.

We encourage abstract submissions that describe new empirical research within the domain of affective science. In line with our goal to facilitate interdisciplinary advances, we welcome submissions from affective scientists in any discipline (e.g., anthropology, business, computer science, economics, law, medicine, neuroscience, philosophy, psychiatry, psychology, sociology) working on a broad range of topics using a variety of measures.

Deadline for Receipt of Abstracts

Abstract submissions will be accepted beginning Saturday, August 15, 2015. Abstracts will be evaluated for poster and thematic flash talk presentations only; all other oral presentations are invited.

Abstracts must be submitted by Friday, October 30, 2015 at 11:59 P.M. (Pacific Daylight Time) to be considered for inclusion in the program. Please review the abstract submission instructions carefully.

Abstracts will be evaluated on the basis of scientific merit by peer review. Abstracts for which the submitter indicates that a trainee is the first author will be considered for a prize to be awarded at the conference during the closing ceremony.

All presenters will be expected to register (and pay) to attend the meeting. Notification of acceptance or rejection of abstracts will be e-mailed to the designated corresponding author by Friday, January 8, 2016.
