Fees & Refunds

Will my registration fee for the meeting be refunded?

You have three options on how to handle your SAS meeting registration fees. You may: 1) request a full refund; 2) transfer the registration to SAS 2021; or 3) convert your registration fee to a donation to the Society for Affective Science Greatest Need Fund. These donations will be used to further the mission and goals of SAS.

How do I tell you what I want to do with my registration fees?

Please submit your request via the SAS 2020 Conference Refund Request Form no later than April 17, 2020. Please allow us at least 30 days to process the refund. Refunds will be processed in the order they are requested.

If I choose to request a refund, how will I receive it?

In most cases, we will be able to issue your refund using the same method of payment. If you used an American Express card, a check will be mailed to you. For those residing in certain countries outside the U.S., we may need to wire the refund to you. If your refund situation is unusual, SAS staff will contact you directly via email.

Who should I contact about my refund?

Please direct all correspondence about your refund to info@society-for-affective-science.org. Do not call or use social media channels to inquire about your refund – we are working remotely to ensure the health and safety of those individuals who work with SAS. Please allow us at least 30 days to process your refund.

I requested a refund before March 23. Should I resubmit using the form?

If you have not already received your refund, please resubmit your refund request using the form. If you’re not sure what to do, please email info@society-for-affective-science.org for a status update.

What should I do about my travel arrangements?

Please contact the airline or travel  company for guidance on cancelling your travel arrangements. SAS cannot assist you with cancelling your travel arrangements.

What should I do about my hotel or accommodation arrangements?

If you made a reservation at the Parc 55, we have requested that all reservations in the SAS block be cancelled en masse.  We have not yet received confirmation that this will be done, so you should feel free to cancel your own reservation. If you arranged accommodations elsewhere, please contact them as soon as possible.

I signed up for a workshop, preconference, mentoring event, or other separate-fee event. Will I get a refund?

Yes, activities with separate fees will be refunded at the same time as your registration is refunded. Please indicate on the form that you signed up for one of these events.

Symposia and Oral Presentations

I am a presenter. Are there alternative presentation options to share my research?

We are exploring other ways for participants to share their research. All presenters will be notified when arrangements have been made.

My paper was chosen for a presentation, but I had to withdraw. May I also participate in alternative presentation options?

Yes, we are exploring ways to disseminate current research. All selected presenters will be notified of the alternative arrangements.

Miscellaneous

I am on a committee that was supposed to meet at SAS 2020. What are the plans to reschedule?

You will be contacted by your committee chair or SAS staff directly to reschedule your meeting.

When will the next SAS Annual Meeting be held?

SAS 2021 is scheduled for April 15-17, 2021, in St. Louis, MO.
