3. Booking in SAS hotel room blocks not only benefits you, but it also has a significant impact on the Society. SAS has negotiated numerous concessions and benefits with the hotel that are based on the attendees’ stay at the conference hotel.
4. If we do not meet our commitment to the hotel, SAS could be financially responsible for lost revenue owed to the hotel. This can affect registration rates or even membership rates moving forward.
If we do not contract for sleeping rooms? Attendees will pay more to stay at the conference hotel. The conference will incur additional expenses in meeting room rental which can be quite costly. The hotel will not hold a block of rooms for attendees, which may leave some people quite a distance from the conference venue. In short, the conference ends up with higher expenses, many of those attending will pay a higher price for their hotel rooms and conference registration fees will be pushed higher.
