Professors Kevin Ochsner (Department of Psychology) and Daniel Ames (Columbia Business School) seek to recruit a post-doctoral researcher as part of an initiative to foster cross-disciplinary research on the interplay of social and affective processes. The prospective postdoctoral scholar would be appointed in the Management division of Columbia Business school while also having ties to the Department of Psychology. The appointment will initially be for one year but is renewable for up to three years in total based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding.
Qualifications
Candidates for this position should have a strong background and interest in studying social and affective phenomena with strong methodological and analytic skills. This position will provide opportunities to become a part of two communities – the Management Division of Columbia Business School and the Department of Psychology. As such, candidates whose work and interests may benefit from this hybrid role are encouraged to apply. Candidates will be considered from different types of research/training backgrounds, including psychology, management, organizational behavior and social / affective / cognitive neuroscience. The primary criterion for selecting the scholar will be academic excellence, fit with the research interests of the primary labs, and potential to contribute to connections between the Management and Psychology communities.

Salary and Pay Transparency Disclosure
The salary for this position is $72,116.
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of posting.
Proof of Degree Requirements
Candidates for this position are required to provide proof of their PhD degree. If a candidate has already received their degree, they will need to forward a copy of their diploma, or transcript. If the candidate has not yet received their degree, they will need to provide a letter of dissertation/conferral for PhD with date which degree will be granted from the granting institution on official letterhead. The expected date of conferral must be prior to OR on the start date. Without proof of PhD degree, Columbia Business School cannot process the hire and the candidate cannot start the Postdoctoral Research Scholar position.
