Call for Nominations: SAS Executive Board of Directors

The Society for Affective Science (SAS) invites nominations for the following positions on its Executive Board of Directors.

President-Elect

The President-Elect serves a three-year term: one year as President-Elect, one year as President, and one year as Past-President.

  • The President-Elect year focuses on onboarding to the Executive Board and preparing to assume leadership of the Society.
  • The President oversees all activities and operations of the Executive Board and the Society.
  • The Past-President supports continuity by overseeing initiatives such as SAS awards and nominations for new Executive Board members.

Director-at-Large

The Director-at-Large serves a three-year term and contributes to a portfolio of activities that advance the mission of the Society. Directors-at-Large typically take leadership on key initiatives, committees, or strategic priorities of relevance to the Executive Board and SAS community.

Treasurer-Elect

The Treasurer-Elect serves a four-year term: one year as Treasurer-Elect followed by three years as Treasurer.

  • The Treasurer-Elect year focuses on onboarding and transition, working closely with the current Treasurer.
  • The Treasurer oversees all financial and budgetary operations of the Society.

Why Serve?

Serving on the Executive Board is an excellent opportunity to help shape the future of SAS and advance its vision of a world that recognizes the origins, functions, and consequences of affect in all aspects of behavior, experience, and physiology. With the recent launch of SAS’s 10-Year Strategic Plan, this is an especially exciting time to join SAS leadership and contribute to the Society’s next chapter.

Nomination Process

Members in good standing are encouraged to self-nominate or nominate a colleague for any of the open positions. All nominees will be contacted to confirm their willingness to serve prior to the formal election.

The Executive Board meets virtually once a month. Executive Board members are expected to attend at least 8 meetings a year.
